Carissa is an ex-international Welsh professional badminton player who has been the Welsh National Champion three times in singles and an impressive six times in doubles. In addition to a creditable 42 caps for Wales, Carissa represented her country at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi and again at the 2014 Glasgow games.

Carissa reached the last 16 in the European Championships, has won international titles in Cyprus, Iceland and Portugal, and has played for clubs across Europe, competing in the Austrian, French, German and Swiss Badminton Leagues.

Back on the domestic front she was part of the University of Nottingham NBL team in it's inaugural year where they reached the National Semi Finals, has representing the Mid Glam County team in England, Division 1, and remains involved in badminton through, coaching the Welsh Junior Team, managing team events and in her role as Badminton Wales' Events Officer.
