2019 UK Squash 57 Championships

The 2019 UK Squash 57 (Racketball) Championships heralded success for Karakal with two of our players capturing National Championships in three categories last weekend.

After competing in his first Racketball Championship, Karakal teenager Ioan Sharpe is now a double UK National Champion, after taking the titles in his own U15 age category and gaining more success in the U17 section.

Whilst long standing Karakal player and Head Coach at Exeter Golf and Country Club Mike Harris, triumphed in the Open section to retain his National Men’s title for the third year in a row. Mike came through a tough 95 minute semi final with Nick Mulvey to win 3/1, then just 3 hours later, defeated 10 times champion Tim Vail, in a gruelling 70 minute Open Final.

The Championships took place on 6th and 7th July at the prestigious Edgbaston Priory Squash and Tennis Club and featured some of the Nations strongest players from the Junior, Senior and Masters age categories, and with events from U13 all the way up to an O80 age group, showcased the accessibility and playability of Squash 57 for players of all ages.
