Karakal’s Ethan Rose shone in Slovakia to win the men’s singles Kawasaki Slovak Badminton Open in a thrilling 64-minute final against Karan Rajan Rajarajan of Denmark.
The 21-year-old battled through four tough rounds before coming up against the 3rd seed in the final-day showpiece.
Karan opened in convincing fashion, taking the first game 13-21. As the match progressed the two opponents played a total of 111 points over the course of more than an hour, but it was the young Englishman who emerged as champion after the final two games went Ethans way 21-18, 21-17.
