Tristan Eysele : WR 137
Tristan Eysele started playing on his school squash courts at the age of 12. At that time he was living in Zimbabwe and fell in love with the game to such a degree that, even at this young age, he knew that he wanted to pursue squash playing, professionally.
The first signs that this ambition was achievable came in those early days which saw Tristan representing Zimbabwe at most junior age groups, before his family relocated to England, where he completed his schooling, becoming his new school's top player and team captain. Education remained the priority as Tristan completed a degree in Criminology and Social Policy at Loughborough university, until in 2011, he finally decided to make his boyhood dream a reality and become a full time player under the guidance of Jesse Engelbrecht, ex South African number 1 and World number 55, who ran squash academy sessions in Hampshire.
Tristan now trains at the Roehampton Squash Club under the guidance of Robbie Temple, but still has sessions with Engelbrecht at Surrey Sports Park, where he is also an assistant coach. This year will see Tristan's international career resume when he debuts for South Africa, in a Test Match against a mixed international side.
When not training, playing or coaching, Tristan teaches music and coaches an under 16 rugby side.
